In this collection of monologues and soliloquies – designed primarily to provide actors with a selection of texts for auditions – we have prioritized a criterion of pure “effectiveness” over meticulous academic categorization. Alongside extracts from relatively unknown or even unpublished plays, you’ll find selections from literature, cinema and poetry, all chosen for the original and unconventional approaches they offer to the interpretive challenge. 

Each text is introduced by valuable “Notes for the performer “, providing insight into the background of the piece and offering guidance for its interpretation.
