Flaminia Iacoviello is an Italian filmmaker who has cultivated her career in Ireland and UK, producing and directing documentaries and docu-series for esteemed broadcasters such as BBC, Channel 4, Netflix, National Geographic, Discovery Channel and Amazon Prime.

Flaminia Iacoviello è una regista italiana che ha coltivato la sua carriera tra Irlanda e Regno Unito, scrivendo e dirigendo documentari e docu-serie per prestigiosi broadcasters come BBC, Channel 4, Netflix, National Geographic, Discovery Channel e Amazon Prime.
She began her journey in the industry working as Assistant to Directors on some of the most popular TV shows of our time, such as Game of Thrones (directed by Dan Sackheim and Mark Mylod, among others) and Penny Dreadful (directed by Academy Award Nominee J.A. Bayona).
Flaminia directed three episodes, including the series emotional finale, of the Netflix crime series Vendetta: truth, lies and the Mafia which was described by the Guardian as “The Sopranos meets Tiger King”.
Additionally, she directed the Amazon series The murder of Meredith delving into the tragic killing of British student Meredith Kercher in Italy which received recognition as “Best Documentary” at MIPCOM in Cannes.
Ha iniziato il suo percorso nell’industria televisiva e cinematografica lavorando come Assistant to Directors in alcune delle più popolari serie cinematografiche del nostro tempo, come Game of Thrones (diretto da Dan Sackheim e Mark Mylod, tra gli altri) e Penny Dreadful (diretto dal candidato all’Oscar J.A. Bayona).
Flaminia ha curato la regia di tre episodi, incluso l’episodio finale, della serie crime di Netflix Vendetta: Guerra nell’Antimafia, che e’ stata presentata da The Guardian con il titolo eloquente: ” Quando i Sopranos incontra Tiger King“.
Piu’ recentemente ha curato la regia della serie di Amazon Prime e Sky : The murder of Meredith, in occasione dell’anniversario del tragico omicidio della studentessa britannica Meredith Kercher. La serie ha ricevuto il riconoscimento come “Miglior Documentario” al MIPCOM di Cannes.

Before venturing into the film industry, Flaminia trained as an actress and performed in dozens of plays all around Italy.
She lived in Paris for seven years, graduated in Littérature and Cinéma from University Paris VII Denis Diderot, and authored four books for major publishers including the popular travel guide publisher, Lonely Planet.
Her debut documentary feature, Tramonto (w/t), has been selected as the sole Italian project to be developed within the prestigious Documentary Campus Masterclass in Berlin.
Flaminia speaks fluently four languages (Italian, English, French and Spanish), she walked the Camino de Santiago twice and she was in charge of a Women Empowerment project in the Lily Flower School in Kathmandu (Nepal).
She has a beautiful, loving and over excited Australian Shepard named “Sol”.

Prima di intraprendere la carriera cinematografica, Flaminia si è formata come attrice e ha recitato in decine di spettacoli in tutta Italia. Ha vissuto a Parigi per sette anni, si è laureata in Littérature e Cinéma all’Università Paris VII Denis Diderot, ed è autrice di quattro libri per importanti case editrici, tra cui la popolare casa editrice di libri di viaggio Lonely Planet.
Il suo primo lungometraggio documentario, Tramonto (w/t), è stato selezionato come unico progetto italiano da sviluppare all’interno della prestigiosa Documentary Campus Masterclass a Berlino.
Flaminia parla fluentemente quattro lingue (italiano, inglese, francese e spagnolo), ha percorso il Camino de Santiago due volte ed è stata responsabile di un progetto di empowerment femminile alla Lily Flower School di Kathmandu (Nepal).
Ha un bellissimo, affettuoso e perennemente entusiasta pastore australiano di nome “Sol”.
